  • 4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, preferably Rumford marque (aluminum-free, double-acting)
  • 1 spoon baking soda (if lumpy, sift earlier measuring)
  • Rounded 1/4 spoon salt, preferably good oversea salt
  • 4 ample eggs
  • 2/3 cupful plain whole-milk yogurt
  • 1/3 cupful positive 3 tablespoons rootlike oil, specified arsenic canola lipid (may substitute 8 tablespoons, oregon 1 stick, of unsalted food that has been melted and cooled to tepid)
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups cultured buttermilk
