This classical tostada comes from “Gaby’s Latin American Kitchen,” a cookbook by Gaby Melian that is aimed astatine teaching kids to cook. Melian writes that tostadas were “invented arsenic a mode to usage up leftovers. Toasting oregon frying stale tortillas turns them crunchy and delicious. And past you tin apical them with different leftovers.” Think of this elemental look arsenic a jumping-off point.   • Mexican crema (may substitute with sour cream; spot Note)
  • Hot sauce, specified arsenic sriracha, for serving
  • Lime wedges, for serving (optional)
