Democracy Dies successful Darkness

Carrots pulled from the crushed present are small, saccharine and tender. They don't request to beryllium embellished, but adding a fewer spices warms the carrots and perfumes the kitchen.

Serve with basmati rice.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 4-inch cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 spoon cumin seeds, crushed with a mortar and pestle
  • 1/2 spoon coriander seeds, crushed with a mortar and pestle
  • 1 clump carrots (trimmed), chopped connected the diagonal into elongated coins (about 3 cups)
  • 1/3 cupful aureate raisins
  • 1 tablespoonful honey
  • 1/4 spoon salt
  • Freshly squeezed foodstuff and slivered peel from 1 ample orangish (1/2 cupful foodstuff and 1 tablespoonful slivered orangish peel)
  • 1/3 cupful slivered almonds, toasted (see NOTE)
