This elemental meat-and-potatoes supper offers a small thing other successful a creamy horseradish sauce. The potatoes are sliced and past roasted cut-side down until crisped connected the edges. Serve with a medium-bodied reddish vino and a greenish salad, if you like.

  • 1 1/2 pounds Yukon Gold oregon babe reddish potatoes, unpeeled and halved
  • 3 tablespoons rootlike lipid oregon different neutral oil, divided
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons good salt, divided
  • 3/4 spoon freshly cracked achromatic pepper, divided, positive much for serving
  • 1/2 cupful sour cream
  • 1/4 cupful prepared horseradish
