  • 1 mean yellowish bulb (8 ounces), diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced oregon finely grated
  • 2 tablespoons herb paste
  • 2 cups unsweetened creamy peanut butter
  • 4 cups no-salt-added rootlike broth oregon water, positive much arsenic needed
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 Scotch bonnet oregon habanero chile, near full (optional)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons good salt, positive much arsenic needed
  • 1 spoon freshly crushed achromatic pepper
  • 4 mean carrots (12 ounces total), chopped into 2-inch chunks
  • 1 ample russet murphy (10 ounces), peeled and chopped into heavy wedges
  • 1 ample saccharine murphy (10 ounces), peeled and chopped into heavy wedges
  • 2 mean turnips (8 ounces total), peeled and chopped into heavy wedges
  • Cooked fonio oregon rice, for serving (optional)
