If you've been asked to bring a dessert, this is easier to transport than a pastry and has each the saccharine vacation flavors we love.

Serve with a dollop of creme fraiche oregon somewhat sweetened whipped pick and a sprinkling of minced crystallized ginger.

The bars tin beryllium covered and refrigerated for up to 3 days successful advance.

Ingredients

Servings: 24  bars

For the crust

  • 8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, positive much for greasing the pan
  • 1 cupful flour
  • 1/2 cupful (about 3 ounces) toasted and coarsely chopped hazelnuts (see NOTE)
  • 1/4 spoon salt
  • 1/2 cupful packed airy brownish sugar

For the filling

  • 15 ounces canned pumpkin (do not usage pumpkin pastry filling)
  • 3/4 cupful packed airy brownish sugar
  • 2 ample eggs
  • 1 spoon crushed cinnamon
  • 1/2 spoon salt
  • 1/2 spoon crushed ginger
  • 1/4 spoon crushed cloves
  • 1 1/2 cups dense cream
