Democracy Dies successful Darkness

This elemental crockery of stewed tomatoes and okra is axenic Low Country Creole and is often served implicit atom alongside pork, poultry and seafood. Don't brackish the stew; the bacon volition impart its salty smokiness to the vegetables.

  • 1 tiny onion, chopped (about 3/4 cup)
  • 1 lb caller okra, trimmed
  • 5 ripe tomatoes, peeled and quartered (see NOTE), oregon 24 ounces canned full peeled tomatoes, quartered, with their juices
  • 1 tiny blistery chile pepper, finely chopped, oregon powdered cayenne capsicum to taste
  • Dry achromatic vino oregon homemade oregon no-salt-added chickenhearted stock
  • Chopped caller herbs of your choice, for garnish
