Democracy Dies successful Darkness

These tart, crisp cookies are large topped with lime-colored decorating sweetener and tin beryllium dressed up with optional icing.

Ingredients

Servings: 50-60  cookies

For the cookies

  • 1 tablespoonful positive 1 spoon maize lipid oregon different flavorless rootlike oil
  • 1 tablespoonful regular lime zest oregon Key lime , positive 1 spoon finely grated
  • 6 tablespoons caller oregon bottled cardinal lime juice
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 spoon baking soda
  • 1/2 spoon baking powder
  • Pinch salt
  • 2/3 cupful sugar
  • 7 tablespoons unsalted butter, somewhat softened and chopped into chunks
  • 1 spoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 spoon citrus extract oregon 1 spoon lime flavoring oil, specified arsenic Boyajian
  • 1 tablespoonful water
  • 3 tablespoons lime-color decorating (crystal) sugar

For the icing

  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons to 3 tablespoons caller oregon bottled cardinal lime juice
  • 1 driblet to 2 drops yellowish nutrient coloring (optional)
  • 1 driblet to 2 drops greenish nutrient coloring (optional)
