This crockery is simply a riff connected panzanella and has each the flavors of an Italian sub, including cured meats, provolone cheese, olives, pickled peppers and a balsamic vinaigrette. Make it your ain by including your favourite sandwich toppings.

Ingredients

Servings: 4-6 (makes astir 10 cups)

For the salad

  • 1/2 tiny loaf Italian breadstuff (6 to 7 ounces total), chopped oregon torn into astir 1-inch cubes (packed 3 cups)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 spoon good salt, divided, positive much arsenic needed
  • 1 pint (10 ounces) cherry oregon grape tomatoes, halved
  • 4 ounces deli slices provolone cheese, chopped into 3/4-inch squares
  • One (2.25-ounce) tin sliced achromatic olives, drained
  • 1 1/2 ounces deli slices ham (about 4 slices), chopped into bladed strips
  • 1 1/2 ounces deli slices pepperoni (about 4 slices), chopped into bladed strips
  • 1 1/2 ounces deli slices salami (about 4 slices), chopped into bladed strips
  • 1/4 cupful sliced pickled banana peppers
  • 1/4 tiny caput iceberg lettuce (7 ounces total), thinly sliced (about 3 cups)
  • 1/4 mean reddish bulb (2 ounces total), thinly sliced
  • 1/2 spoon dried oregano
  • Freshly cracked achromatic pepper

For the balsamic vinaigrette

  • 1 ail clove, minced oregon finely grated
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 spoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cupful extra-virgin olive oil
