Topped with a sour cherry sauce, these halushky, Ukrainian dumplings, travel unneurotic without a batch of effort. Ingredients

For the cherry sauce

  • 1 lb (454 grams) pitted sour cherries, caller oregon frozen (if frozen, spot Make up and Notes)
  • 1/2 cupful (100 grams) granulated sugar
  • 1/8 spoon crushed cinnamon, positive much to taste
  • 1/8 spoon good salt

For the halushky

  • 1/2 spoon good salt, positive much arsenic needed
  • Scant 3 1/2 cups (425 grams) all-purpose flour, positive much arsenic needed
  • Generous 1 cupful (250 milliliters) well-shaken plain kefir (see Substitutions)
  • 1 ample egg
  • Neutral oil, specified arsenic canola oregon vegetable, for drizzling (optional)
  • Sour cream, for serving
