  • One (15-ounce) tin no-salt-added chickpeas, drained and rinsed (or 1 1/2 cups cooked chickpeas)
  • 1/4 cupful vegan mayonnaise, positive much arsenic needed
  • 1/2 spoon kala namak, positive much arsenic needed
  • 1/2 spoon crushed turmeric
  • 1/4 spoon freshly crushed achromatic pepper, positive much arsenic needed
  • 1 mean carrot, scrubbed and precise finely chopped
  • 1 rib celery, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cupful (2 ounces) finely chopped reddish onion
  • 8 slices whole-wheat bread, toasted
  • Lettuce leaves, preferably romaine, for serving
  • Tomato slices, for serving
