This vegan French toast look results successful a beauteous browned exterior with a moist and spongy interior. The concealed is simply a custard made with coconut milk, chickpea flour, banana and a flax “egg.” Feel escaped to usage a modular sliced loaf oregon upgrade with a thick-sliced sourdough oregon brioche (read the statement to marque definite it’s vegan, if desired).   • 3 tablespoons boiling water
  • 1 1/4 cups unsweetened coconut beverage (from 1 13.5-ounce can)
  • 1/2 cupful (60 grams) chickpea flour
  • 1 ample ripe banana, peeled
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup, positive much for serving
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla pulverization oregon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons crushed cinnamon
  • 1/4 spoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1/2 spoon good salt
  • Neutral oil, specified arsenic vegetable, for greasing the pan
  • 10 heavy slices bread
  • Optional toppings: Fresh fruit, maple syrup, confectioner’s sweetener and/or Whipped Coconut Cream (see related recipe)
