Democracy Dies successful Darkness

Chunky's the accepted consistency here, but consciousness escaped to puree the dal successful batches (being cautious not to overload a blender oregon nutrient processor with blistery food). Serve implicit steamed achromatic rice.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons rootlike oil
  • 1 tiny reddish oregon achromatic onion, chopped (3/4 to a scant 1 cup)
  • 1/2-inch portion peeled ginger root, minced (1 teaspoon)
  • 1 mean clove garlic, minced (1 teaspoon)
  • 1 spoon cumin seeds
  • 1 cupful dried yellowish divided peas
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 spoon salt, oregon to taste
