Sara Moulton, this dish's creator, called it: This is simply a moist barroom with big, booming flavors of orangish and vanilla, combining 2 of her favourite desserts.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted, positive much for greasing the baking dish

  • 1/4 cupful water
  • 1/2 cupful dense cream
  • 1 tablespoonful caller citrus juice
  • Scraped seeds from 1 1/2 vanilla beans, oregon 1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla legume paste
  • About 1 cupful (120 grams) unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cupful sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 spoon salt
  • Vanilla crystal cream, for serving
