Cooking teacher Pritha Mehra's kids telephone these kebabs Indian hamburgers and, indeed, they would beryllium large served connected a bun. Here, they're paired with Cilantro-Mint Chutney and fragrant Chutney Rice (see related recipes).

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoonful olive oil
  • 1/2 mean achromatic onion, chopped into tiny chunks
  • 2 mean cloves garlic
  • 1 lb thin crushed beef
  • 1/2 cupful loosely packed cilantro leaves
  • 1 tiny to 2 tiny reddish (hot) chile peppers, stemmed and finely chopped (not seeded)
  • 1/2 mean reddish oregon yellowish doorbell pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1/2 mean greenish doorbell pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 spoon crushed cumin
  • 1/4 spoon garam masala powder
  • 1 spoon salt
