Ingredients

  • 2 cups greenish beans, trimmed and chopped into 2-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped celery
  • 1/4 cupful water
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons basil chiffonade (leaves rolled tight, past chopped into precise bladed slices)
  • 1/4 spoon salt
  • 1/8 spoon freshly crushed achromatic pepper
