One of the large forgotten cocktails of the 20th century, the Aviation cocktail draws its unsocial sensation from maraschino liqueur and -- depending connected your classical cocktail manual of prime -- creme de violette, a floral liqueur made and colored with violets, and gives the portion its signature lavender-blue tinge. Never regenerate maraschino liqueur with the foodstuff from maraschino cherries. Maraschino is simply a balanced, clear-colored liqueur made from Marasca cherries, originating successful the Dalmatia portion of Croatia. It includes the crushed cherry pits, which springiness a subtle bitter almond flavor.

Use a premium London adust gin, specified arsenic Tanqueray oregon Beefeater.

  • 3/4 ounce caller citrus juice
  • 1/4 ounce maraschino liqueur
  • 1/4 ounce creme de violette liqueur
